Dental Bonding

Composite bonding uses tooth-coloured composite resin to repair chips, cracks or broken teeth or to improve the proportions of your smile if you feel self-conscious about gaps or the shape of your teeth. It is often the treatment of choice in tooth wear cases where the size of the teeth is reduced. A small amount of resin will be added to the affected tooth or teeth to improve the proportions, colour and appearance. The resin is sculpted to the desired shape as it sets so that it covers and fills your damaged teeth.
The composite will perfectly match the colour of your teeth to ensure a natural result, and so that no one will notice any difference from a natural tooth or teeth. Composite bonding is a more affordable alternative to some cosmetic dental treatments like veneers or crowns.

Smile Makeovers

A Smile Makeover will improve the overall appearance of your smile. In order to achieve a perfect smile we can use various techniques or a combination of them.

Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a simple solution that can immediately improve the colour of your teeth, the health of your mouth and boost your self-confidence. See more details below.

White Fillings
White or composite fillings are made of resin and a composite such as glass or ceramics. They are used to fill gaps in teeth, cavities, cracks, replace silver colour Amalgam fillings  and as veneers for discoloured or stained teeth. White filling treatment may be combined with other dental care solutions to improve your appearance and health.

Veneers
Veneers are wafer-thin composite or porcelain shields designed to match and cover the tooth surface, hiding stains and discolouration. Veneers are bonded to the tooth surface with durable resin cement to enhance the shape, size and colour of your teeth.

Crowns and Dental Implants
Crowns are made of restorative dental material such as white composite, porcelain or zirconia and will cover a damaged tooth to restore function and aesthetics. Your new crown will be made to blend in with the natural colour of your other teeth.

Invisible Braces- Invisalign

A range of invisible braces are available to straighten your teeth or improve the health and aesthetics of you teeth.. Invisible braces systems, such as Invisalign, are hidden and not visible during treatment. Orthodontic treatment can help to improve oral and facial structure, muscle function and tone. Our dentists can discuss brace options with you to find the one most appropriate to your needs.

Besides these smile makeover dental treatments you can discuss further cosmetic needs, such as facial rejuvenation or Botox, with a member of our dental team. Teeth whitening

Tooth whitening can have a huge effect on your smile and is probably the easiest and most affordable way of enhancing your smile. If you are dreaming of a whiter smile, we can make it a reality. Teeth whitening is a simple solution that can immediately improve the colour of your teeth and boost your self-confidence.

Why whiten teeth?

Very few people have naturally bright, white teeth. Your teeth change colour as you get older, and other factors like what you eat and drink can affect their colour. Coffee, red wine, curry, balsamic vinegar and red berries are all teeth staining culprits. You may have an important event coming up, such as a wedding or holiday, that you want to look your best for. It may be that your teeth have gradually become discoloured due to certain prescribed medications or antibiotics. A build-up of calculus (tartar) can also lead to yellow-looking teeth, as can habits such as smoking.

Your whitening consultation

Your smile is unique to you. Our dentists will expertly assess your teeth to make sure they are suitable for a whitening treatment.
Before undergoing treatment, your dentist/hygienist  will professionally remove stains from your teeth.

Whitening treatments

Your dentist can provide a whitening treatment to use at home. While you’ll be using the kit at home, the treatment is tailored to your unique smile. First an impression of your teeth and jaw is taken, in surgery, to custom-make a tray that will be crucial to your at-home kit. Then, from the comfort of your home and when it suits your schedule, you can begin the process of whitening your teeth. It is a simple procedure that involves applying a gel to your teeth. The tray makes sure that the whitening gel is evenly and safely transforming the colour of your teeth.

This is a treatment that requires multiple applications, but the ease of having the tools at home, as well as the expert advice from your local dentist, means that it is much easier to fit in and around your life.

How long will the treatment last?

How long your teeth stay whiter and brighter after treatment is down to you. Stay away from stain-culprits and keep up a good oral health routine and the effects of your whitening treatment should last up to ten years or longer.

How you can keep a whiter, brighter smile

As well as using a whitening treatment, you can keep your smile looking fresh and bright by incorporating these five simple steps into your oral care routine:

  • Avoid, or keep to a minimum, foods like curry and berries, and beverages such as coffee and red wine that are known to stain teeth
  • Have a glass of water or rinse your mouth out within thirty minutes of eating.
  • Plaque attracts stains, so keep brushing and flossing regularly to remove any build up
  • Use a tooth whitening toothpaste or mouthwash
  • Visit your dentist or hygienist for a scale and polish at least once or twice a year

Veneers

Veneers are wafer thin slivers of porcelain that are bonded to the front surface of a tooth to improve the look of crooked or worn-down teeth, gaps and discolouration, restoring your natural, attractive smile.

Who is suitable?

As long as you have your own teeth, you may be suitable for veneers, and a consultation will allow us to assess if this is the best treatment option to improve your smile.

What are the alternatives?

If the problem is misaligned or teeth with large gaps, orthodontics may be a better approach for many patients, and this will be discussed with you at your consultation. Many of our patients who wish to improve their smile combine their veneers treatment with tooth whitening to enhance the end result.

What will my new smile look like?

Your dentist will take impressions to make study models of your teeth to plan the final look and they will discuss the proposed smile with you before starting treatment. This method ensures that your smile ends up exactly as both you and your dentist envisage it.

How long does it take?

Your improved smile may take up to 6 weeks to achieve. Some of this time is spent wearing a replica of the final result so that your dentist can fine tune the effect before committing to the final porcelain veneers.

Does it hurt?

We do everything we can to make your experience as pleasant and painless as possible. The process will involve using local anaesthetic to numb the teeth and gums for some stages of treatment.

How long do they last?

Research has shown that porcelain veneers usually last from 9 to 15 years, but this will depend on how well you look after your new smile.

Is it expensive?

Individual cases vary ; but your dentist will give you information about the ; cost. We will always give you a clear written quotation once you have had your consultation.
